Josh Vande Wettering
Founder / Lead Investigator
I founded Kaukauna Paranormal Research Team in September of 2009 and am quite impressed where we are today. A large part of this is due to the amazing team members that assist me in running this team on a daily basis. My interest in the paranormal began during my childhood with a magazine called Angels On Earth, a publication about the sightings of angels on earth. Skip ahead to around 2008 when a movie called "Shutter" came out. The movie focused largely on spirit photography. This led me to search for paranormal evidence on the internet, which led me to local paranormal teams, which at the time I didn't realize was a thing. I discovered a team named "Fox Cities Paranormal Team." I explored their website and read about why they investigate the paranormal in their mission statement. Their main mission is to help people, which I had a passion for as well. I decided to implement my love for helping people into the paranormal and created Kaukauna Paranormal Research Team. Throughout the past several years I have met several fantastic people through this field; many of which have turned into good friends. The field has blessed me with many great things in life, and I am forever grateful. I have worked countless cases throughout WI (residential, commercial, historic), and even over phone and email throughout the United States. I enjoy every opportunity I get to teach others about the paranormal field and am excited for what the future holds for myself and KPRT.
Lead Investigator / Pranic Therapist / Assistant of Public Relations
I first became interested in the paranormal after having a personal experience with a spirit in our house in Menominee, Michigan back in 1997. I was born in Germany and lived there until 1985. For the following eight years, I resided in California. In 1991 I enlisted in the Marine Corps. My career was short do to an unfortunate 50' fall and I was medically discharged. In 1993 I moved to Arizona and lived there until the end of 1995. In Arizona I became a student of Lakota spirituality and partook in several sweats. I gained a great respect for the Red Road and how the natives believe in the spirit world. I started my vision quest but never completed the journey due to personal circumstances at the time. In 1996 I moved to Wisconsin and a week after my arrival, I met my wife and we were married seven month later. We have two daughters and are celebrating our 17th anniversary in October. After 9/11, I felt the need to again serve my country and found my calling by joining the TSA- Department of Homeland Security. From 2002 to 2010 I served as a Screener, Lead Screener, Lead Officer, and in 2008 I joined the elite Behavior Detection Officer program and took the fight to the war on terror, with new tools of the trade. In 2008, I was diagnosed with service connected PTSD. The stress of the job aggravated my condition and in 2010 resulted in ending my career. I received veteran disability status and have been semi retired ever since. With all this time on my hands I've decided to explore the paranormal and can't wait to work with this amazing team that I have joined.
